GODIBATCH EXP 5240 – ETS 9610

Fewer Sink Marks, More Freedom for Technical Parts

In many injection molding and extrusion applications, processors need to achieve several objectives at the same time: lower part weight, fewer sink marks, clean surfaces, and a stable production process.

With GODIBATCH EXP 5240 – ETS 9610, Godiplast offers a functional masterbatch designed to address precisely these requirements. This endothermic blowing agent masterbatch with a release agent is suitable for the production of foamed molded parts and profiles, as well as for the targeted reduction of sink marks and voids.

Technical Benefits for Demanding Components

Visible surface defects are particularly common in thick-walled or geometrically complex injection-molded parts. At the same time, there is a growing demand across many applications for lighter components and more material-efficient solutions.

GODIBATCH EXP 5240 supports the following objectives, among others:

  • Reduction of sink marks and voids

  • Production of foamed injection-molded parts

  • Extrusion of foamed profiles

  • Improved surface quality

  • Easier demolding

Endothermic Action for a Fine Foam Structure

When exposed to heat, the endothermic blowing agent system decomposes without generating additional heat and produces an ammonia-free gas.

Decomposition takes place within a temperature range of approximately 140 °C to 210 °C. At processing temperatures above 200 °C, particularly uniform decomposition is achieved, promoting a fine-cell and homogeneous foam structure.

The masterbatch is easy to incorporate, disperses evenly throughout the polymer melt, and supports the formation of smooth surfaces – without unwanted deposits on the nozzles.

Suitable for a Wide Range of Thermoplastics

GODIBATCH EXP 5240 – ETS 9610 is compatible with a broad range of commonly used thermoplastics, including:

PE, PP, EVA, PS, ABS, POM, PET and PA

This makes the product suitable for a wide variety of technical applications where weight reduction, surface quality, and functionality are key priorities.

Recommended Dosage

Depending on the processing method, the following guideline values apply:

  • Injection molding: 1.0–3.0%

  • TSG: 1.0–5.0%

  • Fibers: 1.0–5.0%

  • Film / profiles: 1.0–5.0%

The optimal dosage depends on the polymer, part geometry, desired degree of foaming, and specific processing conditions.

Food Contact

The raw materials used are listed in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 and are approved for the relevant applications, subject to the applicable restrictions.

This does not affect the requirement to test and evaluate the finished article, particularly with regard to specific and overall migration.

Evaluation Under Real-World Processing Conditions

The extent to which weight, surface quality, and molded-part performance can be improved always depends on the mold, process, and material.

Godiplast therefore recommends practical testing under actual production conditions.

Technical information is provided in good faith without obligation or warranty. The suitability of the product and the regulatory compliance of the finished product must be verified by the processor for the intended application.
