Cork Compounds

POLYCORK

Sustainability meets Innovation

POLYCORK combines the durability and lightness of natural cork with the processing ease of plastics. Its unique manufacturing method enables efficient processing through injection molding, extrusion, or thermoforming, transforming traditional costly methods.

Exceptional Properties:

  • Hardness: 50 to 98 Shore A
  • Lightweight: Low density
  • Resistant: UV, sweat, humidity, and water
  • Surface: Non-slip and soft to the touch
  • Aesthetic: Natural appearance, available in various colours
  • Ease: Suitable for injection moulding, extrusion, or thermoforming
  • Durability: High abrasion resistance, foaming capability, sandable

Versatile applications

POLYCORK is perfect for handles and grips on sports equipment, tools, and household items. It is also used for bowls, trays, boxes, plant pots, and toys. In two-component applications, it can be overmoulded or co-extruded on TPE, PP, or PE for sophisticated designs. Sheets, belts, bands, and technical profiles are possible via extrusion.

Easy Processing

POLYCORK can be processed like a conventional thermoplastic. For optimal results, pre-drying for 2 to 3 hours at 70°C is recommended to eliminate moisture.
